Jammu, 3 February 2024: Silk and Cotton Fab is once again in the city with a huge range of silk sarees for the summer season and wedding season. This sale has started from FRIDAY at Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk, Jammu. This exhibition, organized for 18 days, will start from 2nd February, and continue till 19th February. Skilled weavers of the country are displaying the heritage of their handloom art here with new designs. Beautiful cotton and real silk sarees are preferred in the summer wedding season. Silk and Cotton Fab is a great shopping opportunity for saree lovers in the city, where you can get handloom sarees, suits, kurtis and dress materials directly from the weavers of different states.
The Silk and Cotton Fab, being organized every day from 11:30 am to 9:30 pm from February 2 to February 19, has presented beautiful cotton and silk sarees and dress materials of popular varieties from various places in the country. A wide variety of these sarees are available here in different designs, patterns, and colour combinations. In this sale organized by the Indian Institute of Culture, selected summer collections of nationally and internationally popular varieties from various provinces of the country have been displayed. Fab Dust Kurti manufacturer Rakesh Kumar, who came to the exhibition, said that this special collection includes Fab Dust’s block print, muslin print suits, kurti and dress material, Fab Dust’s kurtis for summer, 3-piece suit, Naira cut suit, 1-piece dresses. A huge collection of Muslin, Mal-Mal Cotton, Modal Cotton and Rayon are also being displayed. They also have frock style party wear suit in mirror work.

The exhibition includes Jaipuri Block Print, Jaipuri Bed Sheet, AC Sheet, Jaipuri Kurti, Chikan Embroidery Fabric, Banarasi Silk Sarees, Coimbatore Cotton from Tamil Nadu, Kanjivaram Silk, Bengaluru Silk from Karnataka, Crepe and Georgette Sarees, Baluchari from Kolkata, Kalamkari from Andhra Pradesh, Pochampally, Mangalagiri Dress Material Upada, Gadwal, Dharmavaram, Pure Silk Saree, Tussar from Bihar, Bhagalpur Silk Dress Material, Kantha Work Sarees from West Bengal, Rajasthani Block Handprint, Jaipuri Kurti, Block Print, Sangnari Print, Kota Doria Khadi Silk and Sambalpuri cotton sarees and cotton lace material of Orissa have been included.

Organizer Jitander Chopra said, “Especially in view of the summer season, women are purchasing handloom cotton and silk sarees, suits, kurtis and dress materials here. Entry to the exhibition is free and payment is done through all debit and credit cards. The best weavers of the country are present in the Silk and Cotton Fab with a wide collection of silk and cotton sarees, suits, block print, georgette sarees, designer sarees, Banarasi silk sarees. Silk and Cotton Fab being organized at the main area of the city Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk, Jammu, has Kosa Silk from Chhattisgarh, Ghichha Silk Saree, Mulberry Raw Silk, Block Printed Silk Saree, Kurti, Maheshwari Silk Saree, Tanchui Banarasi from Uttar Pradesh, Jamdani, Jamawar, Brocket Dress Material, , Baluchari sarees, printed sarees, Dhakai Jamdani sarees can be purchased from here.
