Srinagar, February 13: Temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir experienced a slight increase on Tuesday, with the Meteorological (MeT) Department predicting another round of wet weather starting from February 18. According to a statement from the MeT Department, a new wet spell is expected between February 18 and February 20, bringing the possibility of light to moderate snow or rain to many areas in Jammu and Kashmir. Due to considerable snow accumulation and sub-zero temperatures in numerous hilly regions, travelers are urged to adhere to advisories issued by local authorities and traffic police. The minimum temperatures recorded were minus 2.5 degrees Celsius in Srinagar, minus 4.5 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg, and minus 5.4 degrees Celsius in Pahalgam. In Leh town, located in the Ladakh region, the minimum temperature dropped to minus 8.3 degrees Celsius, while in Kargil, it plummeted to minus 15.9 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in Jammu city, the minimum temperature stood at 8.4 degrees Celsius, Katra at 8.8 degrees Celsius, Batote at 3.7 degrees Celsius, Bhaderwah at 2 degrees Celsius, and Banihal at 1 degree Celsius.
