Jammu & Kashmir, 18 Mar : The Meteorological Department (MeT) announced on Monday that light rain and snowfall are expected at numerous locations in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir from March 21 to March 22.
An official from the Meteorological Department mentioned, “The weather is expected to remain generally dry in Jammu and Kashmir from March 18 to March 20.” He also added, “Similar weather conditions will persist in the Union Territory on March 23.”
According to the official, “The weather is anticipated to remain generally cloudy with a possibility of light rain and snowfall at multiple places, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusty winds over the plains of Kashmir and Jammu Division from March 21-22.”
Additionally, he stated, “Partly to generally cloudy weather is expected with light rain and snowfall at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir from March 24-25.”
Meanwhile, in the Kashmir region, the summer capital, Srinagar, recorded a minimum temperature of 3.5°C, while Qazigund registered 2.8°C, Kupwara 1.3°C, Kokernag 3.2°C, Gulmarg -0.5°C, and Pahalgam -1.3°C.
In the winter capital, Jammu, the minimum temperature stood at 13.2°C, Katra at 12.6°C, Batote at 9.2°C, Bhaderwah at 3.8°C, and Banihal at 7.8°C.
In the Ladakh region, Leh recorded a minimum temperature of -7.4°C, while Kargil registered -6.2°C.
