Rijiju Dismisses Impact of Rahul’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ on BJP’s Electoral Fortunes

New Delhi : Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has confidently stated that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ will not sway the BJP’s electoral fortunes, firmly asserting that the NDA will clinch victory in the Lok Sabha polls with a significant majority.

The extensive journey, which commenced on January 14 from Thoubal in Manipur and concluded in Mumbai on March 16, covering nearly 6,700 km, failed to impress Rijiju. He remarked, “Wherever Rahul Gandhi went during his yatra, the Congress will lose all the seats there as nobody takes him seriously. If he refrains from campaigning, there is a probability that the grand old party might win a few seats.”

Rijiju didn’t hold back in criticizing Gandhi for what he perceived as “hate speeches” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting a deep-rooted animosity. He claimed, “The heart, soul, and body of the Congress leader are filled with hatred against the PM and the BJP, which is not good for his health.”

Further, Rijiju attributed Gandhi’s disdain for Modi to his humble origins, implying an inability to accept a common man rising to the position of prime minister. He emphasized Modi’s election as PM as a result of his competence and the people’s love and blessings.

Predicting an overwhelming victory for the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Rijiju forecasted that the party would surpass 370 seats, with the NDA securing over 400 seats in total.

Continuing his critique of Gandhi, Rijiju dismissed him as a habitual offender, alleging loose comments even warned by courts. He further expressed confidence in the BJP’s performance in Arunachal Pradesh, anticipating a triumph with 55 seats out of 60 in the assembly polls, coinciding with the general elections scheduled for April 19.

With elections approaching, Rijiju’s remarks reflect the BJP’s unwavering confidence in its electoral prospects, dismissing any potential impact from Gandhi’s nationwide yatra.
