UDHAMPUR, March 22: Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai of Udhampur urged voters in Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their voting rights without fear as preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024 are underway.
Addressing the press on the arrangements for the impending elections, Rai stated, “The elections will be conducted in the first phase in Udhampur constituency. We have ensured all necessary facilities in all our polling stations.”
“I urge the people to exercise their right to vote… We aim to achieve a voting turnout of over 90 per cent in the Udhampur constituency,” she emphasized.
As per the Lok Sabha election schedule, voting in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted over five phases, with vote counting set for June 4. The Lok Sabha elections in the Union Territory are scheduled as follows: April 19 (Udhampur), April 26 (Jammu), May 7 (Anantnag-Rajouri), May 13 (Srinagar), and May 20 (Baramulla). The results will be announced on June 4.
