Jammu : According to the Meteorological Centre in Srinagar, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain is anticipated across Jammu and Kashmir in the coming 24 hours. The MeT office has indicated that the weather will be partly to generally cloudy, with chances of light rain/snow at numerous locations and the possibility of thunder or lightning towards the evening on Wednesday. However, the weather is expected to remain dry on April 4th. There may be isolated instances of light rain or snow on April 5th, followed by a dry spell from April 6th to 10th. Farmers have been advised to suspend farm operations on April 3rd and 5th due to the anticipated inclement weather conditions.
The cloud cover has led to an improvement in temperatures, which have remained above normal in the Kashmir valley. Srinagar recorded a low of 8.0°C, marking a notable increase from the 4.8°C recorded during the intervening nights. Similarly, Pahalgam observed a temperature of 2.5°C compared to 0.5°C previously, while Gulmarg settled at 2.0°C versus the 0.4°C recorded the previous night. These temperatures were notably higher than normal for these regions, according to the MeT office.
