In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Agartala on April 17, extensive security arrangements have been implemented throughout Tripura’s capital city and its surrounding areas. The West Tripura district administration has designated a ‘no-fly zone’ and ‘red zone’ covering the entirety of Agartala.

According to Tripura BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty, Prime Minister Modi is slated to address a large-scale election rally at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on April 17, marking the culmination of campaigning for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April 19.

In a notification issued on Sunday, West Tripura District Magistrate Vishal Kumar announced a ban on the operation of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles within the jurisdiction of Agartala and its outskirts on April 16 and 17. Violators of this order will face penalties under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, as stated in the notification.

Police authorities have undertaken extensive security preparations to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the Prime Minister’s visit.
