Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of deceitfulness, labeling him a “great liar” while attributing the violence in Murshidabad’s Rezinagar to premeditated actions by the BJP. Speaking at a public gathering in Islampur, North Dinajpur, Banerjee condemned the violence, asserting it was orchestrated by the BJP under the guise of Ram Navami celebrations, criticizing their politicization and targeting of minority communities.
Banerjee also scrutinized the Election Commission’s actions, questioning the timing of transferring the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for Murshidabad Range just before Ram Navami. She accused the BJP of scheming to create unrest and demanded accountability, especially concerning the injury of the police station’s officer in charge. Expressing dissatisfaction with media coverage, Banerjee cautioned against one-sided narratives during elections.
Campaigning for her party candidates in Islampur and Harirampur, Banerjee criticized Modi’s recent statements, particularly his remarks on Bengal’s Lakshmi Bhandar scheme. She rebuffed Modi’s claims, emphasizing her administration’s contributions to Bengal’s development, challenging his promises and highlighting discrepancies in his governance. Banerjee accused Modi of falsehoods, alleging his rhetoric lacks substance and dismissing his credibility.
