Damoh (MP), April 19: Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized during an election rally in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, that the ongoing Lok Sabha election holds the key to India’s ascension as a major global power in the next five years. He stressed the necessity of a strong and stable government given the current global scenario.
Accusing the Congress of weakening the defence sector during its tenure, Modi alleged that the opposition party obstructed the procurement of French-made Rafale fighter jets for India. Conversely, he highlighted his government’s efforts to strengthen the defence sector, emphasizing self-reliance and the export of weapons, including BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to countries like the Philippines.
In a veiled reference to Pakistan, Modi remarked on the neighboring country’s struggle for basic necessities like flour despite its history of supplying terror. He reiterated his administration’s dedication to the welfare of the poor, citing the extension of the free ration scheme for nearly 80 crore beneficiaries for another five years.
Modi also commended Iqbal Ansari, a former litigant in the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case, for accepting the invitation to attend the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. He criticized the opposition for boycotting the event, emphasizing the importance of unity and inclusivity.
