Jammu, April 22: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway faced a traffic halt following a landslide at Gangroo in the Ramban district of Jammu division on Monday morning. The Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police issued an advisory urging commuters to avoid travel until the situation is cleared.
The 270-kilometer highway, crucial for connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country, has been experiencing frequent disruptions over the past week due to heavy rains triggering landslides, mudslides, and falling rocks. Areas such as Mehad, Gangroo, Kishtwari Pather, and Dalwas between Nashri and Banihal Tunnels have been particularly affected, posing challenges for road authorities and travelers alike.
