Srinagar, Jan 16 – The Vice Chancellor, Professor A. Ravinder Nath, announced on Tuesday that the Central University of Kashmir has introduced various measures, such as providing fee waivers to meritorious and needy students, to enhance admission intake at the university.

Nath stated, “We will be providing 100 per cent tuition fee waiver to 10 per cent students based on merit and financial need in post-graduate courses. Another 10 per cent of students will receive a 50 per cent waiver, while an additional 10 per cent will benefit from a 25 per cent waiver.”

Emphasizing the alignment of the curriculum with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the vice chancellor mentioned plans to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with industries across the country to facilitate student internships.

Nath also revealed the university’s intention to implement a credit-based system, allowing students to acquire credits from partner universities internationally. “We have signed an MoU with a Malaysian university, and more MoUs with universities in several countries are in progress,” he added.

The vice chancellor highlighted an investment of Rs 494 crore for infrastructure development within the university.
