Rahul Gandhi Claims PM Modi Was Not Born into OBC Community

JHARSUGUDA, Feb 8: During the final day of his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in Odisha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not born into an Other Backward Class (OBC) family, contradicting Modi’s self-identification as OBC. Gandhi asserted that Modi hails from a general caste family, with his lineage in the Teli community, which was later included in the OBC list during the BJP government’s tenure in Gujarat in 2000. Gandhi further criticized Modi for allegedly avoiding interactions with OBCs while showing affinity towards billionaires. Accompanied by AICC leader Ajoy Kumar and OPCC president Sarat Pattnayak, Gandhi resumed his yatra in Jharsuguda, starting from the Old Bus Stand and proceeding towards Kissan Chowk in an open jeep. Later in the day, the yatra is scheduled to enter Chhattisgarh from Odisha.
