NEW DELHI, Feb 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to preside over a meeting of the Union Council of Ministers on March 3, just days ahead of the anticipated announcement of the Lok Sabha elections, as confirmed by officials.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers is scheduled to take place at the Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in the Chanakyapuri diplomatic enclave here. Prime Minister Modi has been consistently convening such gatherings to discuss crucial policy matters, assess the implementation progress of various initiatives, and articulate his vision on governance-related issues to the entire Council.
With the Election Commission actively reviewing the preparedness of different states for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the announcement of the election schedule is anticipated in the coming month. In 2014, the Election Commission disclosed the schedule for the nine-phased Lok Sabha elections on March 5, with the results declared on May 16. Similarly, in 2019, the poll panel announced the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections on March 10, and the results were declared on May 23.
