JAMMU, Feb 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) initiated a nationwide effort on Tuesday to engage citizens in shaping the vision of a developed India, termed ‘Viksit Bharat.’ Tarun Chugh, BJP National General Secretary and In-charge of J&K Affairs, announced the launch of several initiatives aimed at gathering suggestions from the public to contribute to the realization of this vision.
Chugh, accompanied by BJP leaders including Ashish Sood, J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi, and others, shared that the party, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is dedicated to transforming India into a ‘Viksit Bharat.’ He highlighted that the BJP has set a target to receive one crore suggestions from across the country by March 15.
“In Jammu and Kashmir, programs will be organized at 370 locations covering 285 blocks,” Chugh mentioned, linking the number 370 to the BJP’s decision to abrogate Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019.
Chugh invited citizens to participate by providing suggestions for a roadmap and milestones under PM Modi’s leadership. He outlined multiple channels for submitting suggestions, including a dedicated phone number (9090902024), the NaMo app, and suggestion boxes at various locations.
The BJP also launched a fortnight-long drive for gathering suggestions for its Lok Sabha election manifesto. Party Chief JP Nadda flagged off video raths that will travel to over 4,000 Assembly constituencies across the country as part of this initiative.
“Suggestions received will be directly supervised by Prime Minister Modi to chart the course for ‘Viksit Bharat’ from 2024 to 2029,” Chugh stated. Additionally, a manifesto committee for Jammu and Kashmir was announced, headed by Sunil Sethi and comprising other prominent leaders.
The BJP’s multifaceted approach includes engaging with opinion makers, door-to-door outreach through its cadre, and leveraging technology such as the NaMo app to ensure broad participation in the campaign.
