Anticipation in Kashmir as PM Modi Set to Attend Rally in Srinagar, Expected to Draw Thousands

Srinagar, March 6: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has ramped up security measures in the valley in anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit on March 7. Security has been placed on high alert in Kashmir and around the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, where the Prime Minister is set to hold a rally, with thousands expected to attend from various parts of Kashmir. Security forces have established checkpoints in different areas to preempt any potential untoward incidents ahead of the PM’s arrival.

The people of Kashmir are eagerly anticipating the Prime Minister’s visit, hopeful for the announcement of a development package. Rashid Ganie, a prominent political leader, expressed gratitude to the media for reaching out, stating that people from every district of Kashmir are eagerly awaiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s arrival. Thousands are expected to flock to Srinagar to catch a glimpse of their leader and express their appreciation for the changes in Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370.

Local resident Satpal Singh echoed the sentiment, expressing delight at PM Modi’s visit to the Valley and anticipating the announcement of a development package to address the issues faced by the region’s residents, particularly daily wage workers.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar around noon on Thursday to participate in the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ program, as per an official statement. A press release revealed that PM Modi will dedicate approximately Rs 5000 crore worth of the ‘Holistic Agriculture Development Programme’ aimed at bolstering the agri-economy in Jammu and Kashmir.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate multiple tourism-related projects worth over Rs 1400 crore under the Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD schemes, including the ‘Integrated Development of Hazratbal Shrine’ project in Srinagar.

PM Modi will also launch initiatives such as the ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll’ and the ‘Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign.’ Furthermore, he will distribute appointment orders to around 1000 new Government recruits of Jammu and Kashmir and interact with beneficiaries of various government schemes, including women achievers, entrepreneurs, and farmers.

The Prime Minister will also launch 43 projects aimed at developing pilgrimage and tourist sites across the country, in addition to announcing 42 tourist destinations selected under the Challenge Based Destination Development Scheme.
