Srinagar, Mar 14 : Many regions in the higher altitudes of Kashmir experienced a new round of snowfall, while the plains witnessed rainfall, according to officials on Thursday.
The higher areas of Kashmir, including popular tourist destinations like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg, received fresh snowfall overnight, the officials reported. Additionally, regions such as Gurez and other elevated areas in Bandipora, Ganderbal, and Anantnag districts also saw snowfall.
In Srinagar, light snowfall was observed in the upper areas along the Zabarwan Range, officials added. Meanwhile, the city and other low-lying areas experienced intermittent rainfall throughout the night.
The meteorological department has forecast mainly dry weather until March 20. However, between March 22 and 24, fresh spells of rain and snow are expected in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
