Srinagar, Mar 19: The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has forecasted light to moderate rain and snow across various areas of Jammu and Kashmir from March 21 to 22. According to the MeT office, the weather is expected to be generally cloudy during these days, with the likelihood of light to moderate precipitation along with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds over the plains of Kashmir and Jammu division.
March 23 is expected to be mostly dry, while March 24 may see partly cloudy conditions with light rain and snow in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Similarly, March 26 is anticipated to be generally dry, followed by partly cloudy weather with light rain and snow in a few places on March 27 and 28.
Currently, the weather in the Kashmir valley is pleasant, with sunshine prevailing. Overnight temperatures have shown improvement across most stations, while daytime temperatures were 5-7 °C above normal in the Kashmir Valley on the preceding day.
In terms of specific temperatures, Srinagar recorded a low of 2.2 °C, which was slightly below normal for this time of year. Qazigund recorded a low of 2.2 °C, while Kokernag and Pahalgam registered lows of 3.5 °C and -0.9 °C respectively. Gulmarg settled at -1.0 °C, Kupwara recorded a low of 1.5 °C, each showing variations from previous nights but generally maintaining temperatures within seasonal norms.
