Srinagar, March 26: The Meteorological Department forecasted “widespread” light to moderate rain, snow, or thunderstorms in Jammu and Kashmir from March 27 to 28.
In a statement, the Meteorological Department Office in Srinagar predicted mainly dry weather with the possibility of very light rain and thunderstorms at one or two places during the next 24 hours. On March 29, partly cloudy weather with light rain or snow is expected at isolated places.
From March 30 to 31, the office stated that partly to generally cloudy weather with intermittent light rain or snow is expected at a few places.
Meanwhile, night temperatures recorded an increase at most places except Srinagar and Kupwara, according to a Meteorological Department official.
Srinagar recorded a minimum of 5.4°C compared to 7.0°C on the previous night, which was above normal by 0.4°C for this time of the year. Qazigund recorded a minimum of 4.4°C, Pahalgam recorded a low of 0.7°C, Kokernag recorded a minimum of 6.6°C, and Kupwara town recorded a low of 3.3°C.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 2.8°C, Jammu recorded a minimum of 16.6°C, Banihal recorded a low of 9.2°C, Batote recorded 10.6°C, and Bhaderwah recorded 8.0°C.
