
Srinagar, March 30: Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) have been instructed not to operate on the highway on April 1st and 2nd due to urgent repair and upgradation works on the airstrip stretch along NH-44 near Bijbehara, Anantnag.
An official from the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Department stated that no heavy motor vehicles (load carriers) will be permitted to travel from Srinagar towards Jammu or vice versa along NH-44 near Bijbehara Anantnag. The movement of heavy motor vehicles will be suspended on April 1st, 2024, from 0400 hrs to 0700 hrs, and on April 2nd, 2024. Truckers are advised to refrain from traveling on the highway during these times to facilitate the smooth completion of repair work.
“No HMVs (Load carrier) shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu and vice-versa on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) in view of urgent repairs/upgradation of Airstrip stretch along NH-44 near Bijbihara, Anantnag on 01-04-2024 (Monday) from 0400 hrs to 0700 hrs (Tuesday) on 02-04-2024. Truckers are advised to avoid journey on Jammu Srinagar NHW on 01-04-2024 (Monday) from 0400 hrs to 0700 hrs (Tuesday) on 02-04-2024 and plan their journey accordingly,” the official added.
