Special Observers, comprising both General and Police officers, have been deployed in states with a population exceeding seven crore, including West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Bihar. Additionally, they have been assigned to Andhra Pradesh and Odisha, where simultaneous elections to the Assemblies are scheduled to take place, according to the election authority.
Furthermore, Special Expenditure Observers have been deployed in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Odisha to monitor expenditure-related activities closely.
