New Delhi : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a scathing critique of the Congress party, stating that while the BJP-led NDA envisions India as a developed nation by 2047, the opposition’s manifesto appears regressive. In an exclusive interview with ANI in Madurai on Tuesday, Singh emphasized the stark contrast between the BJP’s forward-looking agenda and what he views as the Congress’ backward approach.

Discussing India’s advancements in defence, Singh highlighted the nation’s growing strength in the sector. He noted the shift from importing weapons, missiles, tanks, and ammunition to exporting them, with the export value rising significantly from Rs 600 crore in 2014 to over Rs 31,000 crore today. Singh expressed confidence that India’s defence export capabilities would continue to expand in the future.

Singh underscored the BJP government’s clean record on corruption, contrasting it with allegations faced by the Congress during its tenure. He emphasized that under the BJP’s leadership, there have been no corruption scandals in the past five years.

Highlighting India’s emergence as a strong global economy, Singh emphasized that the world recognizes India’s growing economic prowess. He attributed this progress to the BJP’s governance.

Singh condemned the Congress for its handling of terrorism issues during its rule, contrasting it with the BJP’s robust approach under Prime Minister Modi. He noted a significant reduction in terrorism incidents, particularly outside of Kashmir, during the BJP’s tenure.

Singh asserted India’s capability to respond strongly to threats from neighboring countries, indicating a shift in the nation’s stance under the BJP’s leadership.

In conclusion, Singh characterized the Congress manifesto as regressive compared to the BJP’s progressive vision. He criticized the Congress’ manifesto as resembling a check in a failing bank, while touting the BJP’s forward-looking policies.
