Nanded, Maharashtra: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a jab at Rahul Gandhi during a rally in Nanded, Maharashtra, stating that in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the “Congress sahabzade” will also lose from the Wayanad constituency in Kerala. Modi suggested that Gandhi would have to seek a safer seat following this defeat.
Speaking at the rally to campaign for BJP candidates from Nanded and Hingoli seats, PM Modi remarked on the landslide voting trend in favor of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) observed during the first phase of Lok Sabha polls. Referring to Rahul Gandhi, Modi commented, “After losing Amethi, the Congress sahabzade will lose Wayanad as well. So he will have to look for a safe seat after April 26.”
Modi also alluded to Sonia Gandhi, suggesting that some INDIA bloc leaders shifted from the Lok Sabha to the Rajya Sabha due to a lack of courage to contest elections. He highlighted the unprecedented situation where the family residing in a constituency wouldn’t vote for a Congress candidate due to the absence of one.
PM Modi emphasized his efforts in rectifying the governance issues inherited from the Congress regimes over the past decade. He criticized the Congress for hindering the development of farmers and the poor, attributing the agricultural crisis to flawed Congress policies.
Regarding the opposition alliance, Modi described it as a coalition of self-interested individuals united to safeguard corrupt practices. He urged voters to turn out in large numbers to secure the country’s future and encouraged opposition workers to appeal to voters, despite their anticipated defeat.
Modi predicted further discord within the opposition alliance post-election results and underscored the importance of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, particularly for Sikh refugees from Afghanistan. The NDA, under PM Modi’s leadership, aims to secure a stronger majority for a third consecutive term, while the opposition INDIA bloc seeks a resurgence after recent electoral setbacks.
