Jharkhand : Chief Minister Hemant Soren has announced that individuals belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in the state will now be eligible for pension benefits from the age of 50 under the Universal Pension Scheme. This move aims to enhance financial support and social security for marginalized communities. Additionally, Chief Minister Soren expressed the government’s commitment to increasing the commission received by ration dealers. The announcement was made during a state-level function at Morhabadi Ground in Ranchi, marking the fourth anniversary of the state government.
Addressing the public, Chief Minister Soren acknowledged the challenges faced during the last four years, including the global pandemic and drought. Despite these hurdles, the government continued its development initiatives. Soren highlighted the successful filling of thousands of vacant posts in government departments, with ongoing recruitment processes for over 45 thousand more positions. He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing 75 percent of jobs to locals in Jharkhand’s institutions and companies.
The Chief Minister outlined efforts to promote self-employment among youth through the Chief Minister Employment Generation Scheme, benefiting over 12 thousand individuals. He stressed the government’s support for women empowerment, citing the allocation of Rs 8000 crores to women associated with Sakhi Mandals. The strengthening of grid sub-stations and power distribution systems was also highlighted to ensure 24-hour uninterrupted power supply.
Looking ahead, Soren shared the government’s vision to make Jharkhand self-reliant by 2025, coinciding with the state’s 25th anniversary. The plan involves substantial improvements in the electricity system, reducing dependence on external sources.
The Chief Minister urged public cooperation in achieving these goals, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts for the state’s progress and self-sufficiency.
