NEW DELHI, Jan 5: According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 761 new COVID-19 cases and 12 deaths on Friday. The number of active cases in the country slightly decreased from 4,423 on Thursday to 4,334, as indicated by the data updated at 8 am.
Among the states with the highest number of active cases, Kerala leads with 1,249 cases, followed by Karnataka with 1,240, Maharashtra with 914, Tamil Nadu with 190, and Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh with 128 each.
