India : Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit at Gandhinagar on Wednesday. The chief guest at the event, held at Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre in Gandhinagar, is Al Nahyan.

Initiated in 2003 during Modi’s tenure as the Chief Minister of the state, the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit has evolved into a global platform for business collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic partnerships, focusing on inclusive growth and sustainable development.

This edition of the summit will feature the participation of President of Timor-Leste Jose Ramos-Horta and Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi. Business leaders, chief executives, and diplomats from 133 countries are expected to attend.

Surpassing the 60,000 delegates from the previous summit, over 1.07 lakh individuals have already registered, with more expected as the registration process continues. Thirty-two nations have agreed to be partner countries for the Vibrant Summit.

During the three-day event, Dutch and Singaporean firms are anticipated to commit $7.19 billion in investments in India. Notable attendees include representatives from Microsoft, Nasdaq, Alphabet’s Google, Suzuki, and Toyota. Leading Indian executives such as Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani, and Tata Group’s chairman will also participate.

U.S. companies, expecting the current government’s return to power, are actively diversifying from China, making India, with its rapidly growing economy, a significant focus, according to Mukesh Aghi, President of the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum.

Between 2019 and 2023, Gujarat has attracted around $34 billion in foreign investments, ranking as the third-highest among states after Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Parallel to the summit, nearly 125 events, including seminars and exhibitions, will take place. The organizers aim to make the event ‘carbon neutral’ by minimizing carbon emissions and offsetting them through tree planting and renewable energy usage. Country seminars by Germany, Saudi Arabia, the UK, South Korea, and Oman are scheduled, with 50 to 75 CEOs of top global firms confirming their attendance for deliberations on various global issues.
